The Kara Story

Begins

an Architect, the Namib Desert Beetle, and a Quest to Make Clean, Tasty Water from the Air

Cody Soodeen (our co-founder and CEO) grew up drinking well water in a small town in Pennsylvania. During his teens, the well became contaminated, and his family was forced to switch to bottled water sources, which were expensive and no friend of the planet.

This bothered him. It bothered him alot.

Recognizing the high lifetime cost and negative environmental impact of bottled water, he set out to find a permanent solution.

Cody found his unconventional inspiration in the Namib desert beetle. This tiny but magnificent insect harvests water from early morning fogs on its bumpy back and then slides them down into its mouth to quench its thirst.

With the perfect inspiration and the mission to change the world by reducing our reliance on groundwater, the architect created a beautiful air-to-water dispenser—Kara Pure.

How much water can you generate?
The machine makes 1 gallon (7 bottles of clean, pure, environmentally fresh water to keep your family hydrated and up to 18 cups of coffee or tea) per day.

How does it create water from air?
Kara Pod captures the air and processes it to remove impurities, destroying 99.9% of germs. The clean air then undergoes Kara Water’s unique heat exchange and cooling process that finally condenses the water in the air. After filtration, it adds essential natural minerals, and you’re good to go!

How often do I need to change the filter?
To make the most of your Kara Pod we recommend changing the filter four times per year.

How much do filters cost?
Filters will cost $24.95 quarterly to ensure that your water is properly mineralized.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs will be determined closer to our ship date.

When will you be shipping?
Our estimated shipping will be spring and summer 2025.

Can I get a refund? What is your warranty?
Of course. If you change your mind before we ship, just reach out and we'll give you a full refund. Once product has shipped, customers will be able to get refunds on fully functioning units within 30 days of receipt. All Kara Pod units will have a two-year manufacturers warranty.
